Welcome to Wagg & Purr Pet Behaviour

I am very excited to launch my new business! After 3 years of study, my MSc degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour has come to an end. I took a break for maternity leave from dog training and used this time to complete the dissertation element of my degree, alongside looking after my daughter. Handing in my dissertation and the end of three years of hard work, seemed like the perfect time to launch my new brand, so introducing..

Wagg and Purr Pet Behaviour!

At Wagg and Purr Pet Behaviour, I aim to offer up to date, professional and friendly dog training, cat training and pet behaviour advice.

As a qualified dog behaviourist and cat behaviourist, I’m passionate about animal behaviour, with my main focus being to help owners and their pets to better understand each other and to build on the human- animal bond. I have a range of practical experience working with dogs and cats and I also have an extensive academic background in animal behaviour. It’s safe to say I’m a complete geek when it comes to anything animal behaviour related!

You will likely come across my dog Poppy while exploring my content. Poppy has been a huge inspiration behind my journey into becoming a clinical animal behaviourist. She’s been by my side while I’ve studied animal behaviour and has taught me more than I could have ever imagined. Thanks to Poppy and her background, I have a specific interest in the imported dog trend in the UK and I chose this as the topic of my dissertation research project I’ve just completed. It constantly amazes me how well pets are able to adapt and how much they can teach us in the process!

I’m excited to start working with owners and their pets to further enhance pet-owner bonds and to tackle training and behaviour struggles!

“We would highly recommend Lauren as the ‘go-to’ person for any doggie-based problems. She has such a calm and engaging manner with both dogs and their humans that you feel at ease whilst working with her. Lauren helped us with our rescue dog, Teddy, who was very reactive to all other dogs and animals. She accompanied us on walks with him and helped us understand how we needed to behave around Teddy prior to any potential reaction and also when he did react. After learning new skills from Lauren we felt much more comfortable and confident about how to behave when walking Teddy, resulting in us all enjoying our walks so much more. Thank you Lauren!”

“Lauren has taken the time and trouble to help us rehabilitate our challenging dog who is now coming on very well. We have been very impressed by her knowledge, integrity and reliability, our dogs absolutely adore her. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lauren for her dog services, we wish her every success going forwards with her business.”
